Armorial Charger.
A piece of Chine de commande commissioned by the VOC in China. This specific one was made for the Valckenier family and is decorated with their coat of arms. The Valckeniers were a renowned family from the Golden Age of the Netherlands. They originated from Noord-Brabant and had a lot of influence in Amsterdam from the 15th to the 17th centuries.
