A pair of Kangxi bowls in outstanding condition. The outside of the bowls is decorated with extremely rare scenes, and the rim of the bowls is decorated with some of the hundred antiquities. Some of these antiquities are incense burners, vases with flowers, books, scrolls, various musical instruments and landscape scenes. Among the flowers are prunus flowers, lotus flowers and peonies. Some of these symbols are associated with rising in status. Most of these scenes are from the Romans of the western chamber. Some of these scenes depict an attendant gifting a scholar various objects of symbolic meanings. The inside of the bowl is in a molded relief of a lotus flower. The bottom of the bowls are marked with Cheng Hua.
